Happy New Years!
As Queen said,’ another one bites the dust.’
I hope your year has been filled with joy and coffee (is that a tautology?)
I was lucky to meet a number of readers at fairs this year, and I’m looking forward attending more.
This year saw the released of my first sequel, The Steele Bite. I’m really proud of the story, especially the mix of humour and danger in the zombie bus scene. As well, my action-Christmas short story, Red Snow, came out in the Slay Bells Ring anthology. I have another short story written and accepted, Silent Griffin, but that’s going live early 2023.
Which brings me to what the new year has in store. I have set myself an impossible schedule so do not take the following as a 2023 release promise, more a list of projects I’m shepharding forward. It’s unlikely more than 2 projects will make it out the door. My adult books in future will go under the name Robert Tillsley. I’ll be leaving R Max Tillsley for my children’s works.
For Adults:
Fantasy: Claybacks Book 1
Science Fiction: Colony/action novel
Redhawk Twin: Set in the Matt Kander universe
Urban Fantasy: Hotel Yore
For Children:
Urban Fantasy: Susie Steele 3
Tangled Fates: a few outlines are percolating
As you can see, this is too much to be done in one year. I can tell you that the first project I’ll be working on is Claybacks book 1. I have six chapters to insert in my current draft, and I have most of them outlined. This project been a long time coming and I need to reach a point where I stop tinkering.
I’d really like to experiment with using kickstarter for a launch. It would mean a lot of learning, but I need to find ways to reach readers, and I would love to be able to offer cool extras and know that people want them.
Which books do you want to see? Would you back a kickstarter?
I hope you have a fantastic 2023!
